With my laptop editing system I am able to produce compressed 'QuickTime' or
'Real' videos which can be sent over satellite phones and streamed or
downloaded from the Internet.

Lowband (40K/second) and Broadband (300K/second) Quality Video -

QuickTime 300K or 40K

If you have QuickTime 5 or later software installed on your computer you should be able to download this 1 minute video by clicking on the picture.

If you can't see the video clip you first need to 
download the free QuickTime player 6!

Technical Comments:
The broadcast quality version of the above 1 minute video clip has a file size of 260MB.
Compressed into a 500KB 'QuickTime' file the data can be downloaded in real time (40K/sec) over a normal 56K/sec modem. Of course image and sound quality suffers!
Compressed into a 2.5MB QuickTime file the data can be downloaded in real time (300K/sec) over a broadband ADSL connection.
